How YOU Can Help

Knowing how to actually help and make a difference can be one of the most difficult tasks in helping to make a change. Or feeling any reward in your hard work and dedication can be hard to quantify, and see how you are making a difference. Both of these are legitimate concerns, but shouldn't stop us from stepping in and stepping up.

Borneo and Sumatra are running the danger of losing half of their Orangutan population if current deforestation development continues. Through organization and education about the problem facing the Orangutan's, their cause has grown in exposure and likewise grown in effectiveness. This trend needs to continue. Although help has come late in the game for the Orangutan's, it has not come too late, and with our help can improve by much more. Their loss of habitat due to Palm Oil corporations needs to be stood up for, and not allowed to be trampled over as it has in the past. I have put together a list of ideas to help this cause.

Here are a few:

With this short list of ideas, we can see there are multiple ways we can help out. Funding can help this cause in several capacities, a few of which include rescuing and rehabilitating injured Orangutan's. Many Orangtan's put in dangers path, need to be housed and then relocated to a safer home. This can be very costly and extremely time consuming. Without your urgent help, the Orangutan could be the first Ape species to suffer extinction. Through management and conservation efforts, we can take the pressure off of the two islands of Borneo and Sumatra to house the last colonies of Orangutan's and reestablish them throughout the Asian highlands to flourish as they once did. Decide for yourself that you will act now, and not let this species hang by a thread.
