If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look

for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap

and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair.

C. S. Lewis

My name is Ryan Hermansen, I am 24 years old and I grew up in Salt Lake City, UT. I love the state of Utah and have had the opportunity to explore many of its beautiful mountains and back country. I enjoy hobbies such as hiking, trail running and fishing in the warmer months. I have had the opportunity and privilege of coaching high school athletics for the last couple of years and enjoy every minute of it. I have helped out in track and field, cross country and football. Interacting with new people and making new friends has always been a strong emphasis in my life that I have tried to maintain, because not only do we impact other people, but they have a great impact on us. I like to challenge myself and attempt new activities or explore new fields of study, I try not to limit myself with information because of the benefit it can have in all areas of life. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attend religious services regularly and maintain the truths and morals that are set forth.

I am the oldest of three boys in my family, and have been able to learn a lot being the one who is looked up to, as well as learn from the good examples that my brothers always set. My family ties, along with my friends, are very strong and of a great importance in my life. I have been attending the University of Utah in addition to the Salt Lake Community College, in addition to my schooling, I have been able to help in various capacities of student leadership and other extra-curricular activities.  Currently I am a senior in pursuit of my Bachelor degree in Exercise Physiology, and set to graduate in the spring of 2014.

I have recently begun on blog on my webpage in support of the Orangutan's endangered in Sumatra. This is not a new issue, but it does have great importance and relevance to citizens across the globe. These creatures need support only we can provide to make sure their habitat's are not completely wiped out. I will be updating the blog with current news and updates related to the topic; as well as steps we can take to help their cause. We need to support the natural beauties of our Earth, and if we lose focus, they will vanish before our eyes. A lesson that we have already been forced to learn the hard way before. Check back for further information on the topic.
