Ryan's E-Portfolio

 Writing this analysis paper was very beneficial and rewarding in many different ways. It helped us as students in a political science class to explore the issues discussed in lecture and understand them on a deeper level.  The freedom to choose our own topic also helped increase productivity as well as performance in writing our papers because it allowed us as authors to research issues that had some interest in our lives, not making the paper a hastle or burden to compose. Closely connected with these personal issues which we chose, were the opinions, of value or not, that we had going into the process. Having the requirement to acknowledge and understand the opposing viewpoint to our own, helped give way for open minded reason to take place and a more pure form of intellectual analysis. Only by knowing both sides of any given issue do we expose ourselves to the raw content of the information and become capable of being the 'well-informed' citizens of our great society.
